Anna Maria Island

Seven miles of Old Florida that still remembers how to slow down.

Anna Maria has that old Florida feeling I am always looking for — bicycles, little streets, white sand and water that somehow manages to stay shades of turquoise and green.

I always end up watching the shoreline here: shells at my feet, dolphins farther out and sunsets that turn the whole Gulf pink for a few minutes. It is the kind of place you keep exploring instead of simply arriving.
